Backflipping FBI agent charged with assault turns himself in

The “backflipping FBI agent,” who left jaws dropping when a viral video circulated of him accidentally shooting a bar patron, has been identified.

Chase Bishop turned himself in to authorities Tuesday. The 29 year-old can be seen in this video  dancing in a Denver, Colorado bar called Mile High Spirits. He then performed a backflip which caused his gun to fall out of his holster. When he went to pick the gun up he accidentally shot a patron in the leg.

The victim was later identified as 24 year old Tom Reddington. He has since recovered, and laughed at the whole ordeal.

Agent Bishop, on the other hand, is not in such a laughable position. Investigators are in the process of determining what his blood alcohol level was at the time of the incident on June 2nd. In the meantime he has been charged with assault with a firearm.

Bishop is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday at 8:30 am.
