Honey Smacks cereal causes salmonella break for 100 people in 33 states

The US Centers for Disease control and Prevention (CDC) has urged Americans to avoid Kellog’s Honey Smacks at all costs. They have warned people NOT TO EAT that particular cereal.

The cereal is the suspected cause of a huge salmonella outbreak.

Over a million packets of cereal were recalled by Kellog’s in June.

While no deaths have been reported in this outbreak, salmonella can cause acute illness. It can also cause death in some rare cases.

The CDC posted on social media: “Even if the cereal has been eaten and no one got sick, throw the rest of it away or return it for a refund.”

Salmonella strains have been found in unopened and leftover samples of Honey Smacks at several locations.
