Donald Trump’s star will be removed from the Walk of Fame

Hollywood’s  mayor, John Duran made an announcement on Twitter stating that the city council has filed a motion, through the chamber of commerce, to remove President Donald Trump’s star from the Walk of Fame.

Donald Trump was granted his star in Hollywood, Ca when he had major success with his television reality show, “The Apprentice.” Since he was inaugurated into presidential office his star has been defaced several times.

As of 2017 the cost for a celebrity to get a star on the Walk of Fame was $40,000. Celebrities endure an application process. If nominated they may choose to do a star sponsorship, which covers the maintenance and restoration of their star as well as the ceremony.

Some may say the whole process is a little self-indulgent. For many celebrities, having a star on The Boulevard brings more relevance to their name, which can be good for business. In Trump’s many feel that his star on the walk of fame is undeserved and it was no more than a vanity project, much like his presidency.

They should have kept the walk of fame the way it started originally with Movie stars, Not with television stars, athletes or politicians.
