A severe earthquake rumbled through the outskirts of Osaka and Kyoto, Japan Monday causing three deaths and hundreds of injuries.
The 6.1 magnitude convulsion was over 8 miles deep into the earth. A wall collapsed at a school in Osaka, which caused one child fatality. Two elderly men were also compromised in the traumatic seism.
There has been a toll of over 300 injuries were treated at hospitals although there was a temporary power outage. 1000 schools in Osaka were closed. Several fires were also caused.
While the earthquake was severe it was not as bad as the killer-quake, Kobe, which took over 6,000 lives in 1995.
