As the holiday season approaches, some people are still opting to be on Santa’s naughty list.
The Desert News reported two Utah teens were arrested at at Vernal airport Thursday for stealing a plane at a private airstrip in eastern Utah.
To define “teens” these bandits were only 14 and 15 years old. While they may be young the holiday- heist- men were no rookies. They managed to fly about 15 miles and landed successfully at Vernal Regional Airport.
They holiday-high rollers stole a tractor, drove it to the airstrip, then made off with the single-engine Cessna. Shortly after takeoff they were spotted flying low along US40.
According to the Utah County sheriff’s office they had left a group home earlier in the week. They just moved in with friends in the Jensen, Utah area.
They are being held at the Split Mountain Youth Detention Center in Vernal.
