President Donald Trump has declared Hawaii in a state of Emergency as it awaits Hurricane Lane’s landfall. This will be the biggest storm to hit the island in over 26 years.
The category 4 storm is threatening the safety and shelter of the Hawaiian natives. Unlike people located on America’s mainland, Hawaiians are stuck in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.
Thursday the American Red Cross opened 50 evacuation centers. They are expecting 4,000 to 5,000 evacuees to shelter there. FEMA representatives have already moved into four counties to maintain and establish communications, as well as to clear roads.
Landslides have already been reported on the island. The outer rain bands of Hurricane Lane have already created some flooding and caused road blockage.Twitter contests by Rewards Fuel
