Former Senator of Arizona, John McCain passed away at the age of 81 Saturday.
The Vietnam veteran succumbed to brain cancer. The tumor was discovered in July of 2017 when McCain went to have a blood clot removed from above his left eye.
The congressman of over 30 years will leave a legacy of heroism. He survived five years as a prisoner of war in Vietnam. He will also be remembered as the Republican candidate who challenged Barack Obama for the U.S. Presidency in 2008.
On Friday, his family issued a statement saying,“Last summer, Senator John McCain shared with Americans the news our family already knew: he had been diagnosed with an aggressive glioblastoma, and the prognosis was serious. In the year since, John has surpassed expectations for his survival. But the progress of disease and the inexorable advance of age render their verdict.”Twitter contests by Rewards Fuel
