It’s no secret that everyone basically relies on WiFi to get through life. For over a decade Internet connectivity has been integrated into most portable electronic devices.
Now, major companies are setting their sites on utilizing private 5G networks instead of WiFi. An MIT Technology Review revealed some of the the companies working to make the big transition are: Audi, BMW, Daimler and Volkswagen, manufacturing, oil, gas, and chemical companies.
Audi has been testing the technology all summer. They claim if everything works out nicely they may completely do away with WiFi networks.
Some network operators around the globe have already been using and integrating 5G.
A broad adoption is projected for 2020. This will be around the same time Apple intends to launch their 5G phones.
