There comes a time in every man’s life where even he gets tired of his own lies.
Unfortunately for President Donald Trump’s former lawyer, Michael Cohen, that pivotal moment happened to be in the court of law. Ugh!
Cohen pleaded guilty Thursday to perjuring a congressional hearing when he lied about the Russia investigation. More specifically, he admitted that he that he in fact DID pursue a Moscow real estate deal on Trump’s behalf during the 2016 Republican campaign. Cohen was negotiating a deal to build a Russian Trump Tower up until June of 2016.
This is a far different narrative than the one the shady lawyer told congressional committees last year. He originally claimed all communications about the project ended in January of 2016.
Politcal analysts and experts believe this revelation proves that Trump was in pursuit of this business dealing with Russia weeks after he had won and accepted the Republican nomination.
Cohen said he “lied out of loyalty to Trump.”
Trump’s response to this was calling Cohen a “weak person.” who was lying to get a lighter sentence.
