Salmonella scare in Pepperidge Farm’s Goldfish

Another day, another food born illness. This time, salmonella strikes again as it threatened the health of consumers of Pepperidge Farm’s Goldfish crackers.

Four of the flavors have been recalled for fear of bacterial infection in the seasoning. No illnesses have been reported. Pepperidge Farm listed the following as possibly hazardous:

Goldfish Mix Xtra Cheddar + Pretzel

Goldfish Baked with Whole Grain Xtra Cheddar

Flavor Blasted Xtra Cheddar

Flavor Blasted Sour Cream & Onion

These snacks are under voluntary recall as the company goes to no end to reassure the health and safety of it’s consumers. Executives claim that the whey powder in the seasoning is causing the risk of salmonella. Pepperidge Farms advises people not to eat “the snack that smiles back” at this time.

So far, in the past week, there were recalls on Honey Smacks Cereal, Mc Donald’s poopy salads and now, Goldfish.
