Twitter CEO stands firm on decision not to ban Alex Jones

Monday Alex Jones fans were highly disappointed to know he has been banned from almost every social media platform possible.. except Twitter. Now, the liberals are looking at Twitter Inc with the side eye. They are wondering why the “InfoWars” podcaster was not also banned from their platform as well.

The CEO of Twitter, Jack Dorsey stands firm in the decision not to ban Alex Jones, the right-wing fringe. He says Alex has not broken any rules.

Dorsey said he does not support the idea to take “one-off actions to make us feel good in the short term, and adding fuel to new conspiracy theories.”

This makes since seeing how Twitter also facilitates the posting of pornographic images and videos of their platform. If they were to begin with censorship, surely they have bigger fish to fry than Alex Jones.

Jones has amassed a wealth of followers on the social media platform. He boasts a whopping 858,000 followers. He has done this by promoting his conspiracy theories and borderline “hate-speech” rhetoric.

Del Harvey, the vice president of Twitter, says “Twitter is reflective of real conversations happening in the world and that sometimes includes perspectives that may be offensive, controversial, and/or bigoted,” she said. “While we welcome everyone to express themselves on our service, we prohibit targeted behavior that harasses, threatens, or uses fear to silence the voices of others.”

While most social media platforms are being more proactive about filtering through “fake news” and the propaganda which potentially leads to victimization of specific social groups, Twitter is not looking to play police. Dorsey, the CEO believes it is every journalist’s responsibility to research and confirm or deny the integrity of statements which circulate on the platform.

THey’ll start banning us all for our opinions. Alex Jones is just a person who’s doing this independently, Yeah he has a big following but banning him is pretty suspect if you ask me.

Alex Jones is very over the top. I stop listening to him years ago. We must remember words have power and consiquences will follow. So Alex done it to himself. We should be cautious of what we say and how we say it.
