A select group of Netflix subscribers have started seeing advertisements while they try to binge-watch their favorite shows. The streaming company confirmed they are testing ads on their original shows and movies between episodes.
A rep from Netflix told tech-website ARS, “We are testing whether surfacing recommendations between episodes helps members discover stories they will enjoy faster.”
Several viewers have complained about the new feature on social media. Some claim that the ads are unskippable. However, Netflix reassured people, the promos are in fact skippable.
